stuck in a community

thesims then decided to leave it. So I clicked the button to leave it... but it won't go away. It's not listed anymore under my communities, but it still lists me as "watching" it. Consequently, I get all of their comments in my friends list, when what I want is for it to be gone, gone, goneeeee.
what can I do to remove myself from its friend list?
