I've been thinking of ways to describe Radiohead's concert on Saturday. I don't know if I feel like attempting a recap of all the songs, what they sounded like, etc. Mostly because I don't know much of their songs and only own the last album (Amnesiac?) See, I've just proven that I'm not a fan!

I was tempted to sell my ticket at the door but when I got there, saw all those desperate faces, I felt that maybe the show would be great and I would be too dumb to miss the opportunity. It sucked having to go by myself, but I found a nice spot on the balcony and soon after I settled down they came on stage.

They started with "There There", and the crowd just went mental. The moshpit was jam packed with hardcore fans, but even on the balconies (Shepherd's Bush Empire has 3 balcony levels) everyone was standing and singing along. That's commitment.

One of the songs that stuck out for me was the one with the hand clapping. All the fans, just to show off, would clap their hands together with Thom during the chorus. It was a bit autistic, but in a charming way.

I never realized Thom Yorke was so small. Definetly a hobbit-look-a-like if you ask me. And he danced kind of funny, as if he was in a rave. The new songs sound very funky (though my definition of "funky" is anything that makes me want to dance, so don't quote me) and downright fun. Some of the slower numbers were back in miserable territory, with Thom even saying before he began playing the piano: "happy, happy, HAPPY!"

I took some photos, but because I'm stuck in the 20th century I still have to develop them. I'll scan them as soon as I can.

Afterwards, I went home and watched the end of the Eurovision Contest. The representatives for the U.K. got nil points.
