28 years old and still a kid

Left work early yesterday for a dentist appointment. Dr. Mohammed, gay as a fruit cake. Then hours on my own, at home. Too much time on my hands, so I play videogames. Horrible moments in Resident Evil which get replayed in my dreams. I must stop being such a:

KIDULT!

oh, i agree with that... but don't you find that there are tons of people collecting Buffy the Vampire dolls, and obsessing over Spider Man movies, etc? I guess my main thing is videogames and horror movies... but, then again, i don't know if horror movies are exactly for kids (i did love them as a kid though...)

hmmm... the main criticism towards Kidults would be if they only care about toys while the world around them goes to shit, the polititians are allowed to rob with no protest... that's the danger.

I see what you are saying, and I guess that's my problem too, I care about politics but I feel like I am still not really an adult so I shouldn't be as concerned? does that make sense

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-28 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
yeah... in Brazil, you are forced by law to vote, so you are forced to become aware of the political parties, etc. It doesn't help that there are 27 or something of them! But it has been good in the way that politics was always talked around the house and it just becomes a part of life. And I'm really proud that we elected this year a president that doesn't stand for Bush's shit and is actually trying to get a lot of poor countries together into a kind of "club"... but if I were from Canada I might also not pay too much attention to politics... it's so quiet over there.

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-10-28 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
lol well there is a lot going on right now, but I agree Canadians are very apathetic about politics, I think alot has to do with our system and the way it is structured. It's very difficult to feel you are making a difference when the majority of the power comes from two provinces and the elections are decided before the province of BC even votes. It's very disheartening. but I do agree I think the whole world has to fight to get bush out,,, what he is doing is horrifying and he is going to break the us...I truly believe he will bankrupt them

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
i think he's already bankrupted them! all the money he's throwing at the military, and meanwhile they have a disaster in California with the fires, their health system doesn't exist anymore so all the poor are stuck without doctors... it just goes on and on.

I didn't know that about Canadian politics... i need to read more about it, if I want to live there.

do you want to live here again? just go to the cbc website I find it informative, you are lucky I think bbc is one of the most honest, unbaised news services, they dont' like the states and are willing to expose them on an almost daily basis

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, I like BBC too... specially radio BBC6. I want to live in Canada, yeah! It's one of Kevin and mine's plan to return soon, once I figure out how to get a working visa.

:o)

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
yayay! it's so easy! I can get you links if you would like?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
i've looked at everything already! thanks though... it really is a matter of kevin marrying me (if they get it through the courts) or me being able to find a job and an employer who will apply for my working visa.

or go back as a student (unlikely, since it's so expensive.)

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
hmmmmm what kind of skills do you have?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
hehehe...

skills?

*looks around and finds nothing*

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
bwhahaha I am sure we can find something!!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
the problem is that i need skills that "no other Canadian has". That's how they'll give me a job - if no other Canadian can do it. It's fair... but it keeps me out.

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
hmmmmmmm wierd, you should look into moving to manitoba because I think it's a bit different, we have a thing called provincial sponsership...I looked into it, it's a bit different then other provinces, I think anyway

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 08:17 am (UTC)(link)
the thing is, Kevin's family lives in Ottawa and his sisters live in Toronto... so he wants to live there, to be close to them. I have a friend in Alberta who also said the same thing to me, that they encouraged immigration there because there weren't as many people... but Kevin didn't want to be so far away.

do you know anyone who moved to Manitoba that way?

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
hmmm that is sucky because it's pretty far, I dont' think I know anyone, but I am working at the esl center today so I may be able to aquire some more information for you if you would like! and I mean hey at least are you in the same country and then after a certain time period I am sure you could move to TO

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
that's true. for me, as long as i'm with him, and I have a job, i'm fine... then you could show me around Manitoba and introduce me to all the Mod Nights!

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-10-29 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
YAY!! <3
