you, sitting at your work desk unhappily. perhaps typing; perhaps answering the phone. about nine-forty AM. wishing you were anywhere but there. it will be a sunny day, the kind of day it would be a shame to waste at work.

I'd sneak in - crawling past occupied desks in places so nobody would see me - 'pssst! Ollie! c'mon!' - waving my hand and pointing to the door. i would look silly on the floor, but i mean business. you have no choice but to come with me!

you'd look around furtively - nobody would be watching - and we'd run out the door! we would take to the streets, you tossing your tie aside in disgust, we'd find the one brasilian bar in london and drink caiparhainas(?) and ogle boys - we would eat ice cream and sandwiches and do goofy english things.

and then I'd drop you back off at your cottage under strict orders that, if anyone were to ask about your absence, that you would immediately get a blank look in your eyes, square your shoulders, and shout 'NO NEWS BUT GOOD NEWS, SIR!' while they will back away slowly.
