Monday Expectations

I need a MEGASCANDAL on Livejournal to start my week. Everything has been so boring lately. Let the fighting begin.

My new apartment is gorgeous. Kevin and I took a few suitcases over last night filled with books and stuff. From two of the bedrooms' windows you stare directly into the canal and the barges. You can sit by the window and watch tourists board a travelling barge, or people jogging. From our bedroom (which used to be the living room), Kevin and I have the view of grey coucil skyscrappers, St George flags and a bit of green. Most important of all, nobody can stare back into our apartment. As we were sitting on the new bed our landlord bought for us (!?!) we heard the neighbours playing some reggae. Reggae drifting through the walls sounds so much better than when it's played on your stereo.

How much does it cost to get a sofa upholstered? The sofas left behind in our apartment are MINGING.

In the old flat, I used to have this two-seater monstrosity in beige and moss-green check. I hated it and didn't feel it went with anything so I went to Camden, bought one of those funky batik throws and covered the offending sofa. The benefit of this is that they're easily removable, even more easily washed and when you move out, if you have to leave the sofa behind, any spills are mostly soaked up by the batik, so no cleaning bill or loss of deposit. ^_^

That's what I'm thinking too. I'm giving the sofas a good shampoo and then throwing something nice over them.

Rage is good. I like rage. If you find anything to direct rage at, let me know and I'll go on one of my more classic rants. I could use the distraction anyway. ^_^
