Ten Thing You Might Not Know About Me

1) I used to never miss flights.
2) I don't like The Simpsons. I used to, but for the past, oh, 5 years it's been utter tosh.
3) Although my dad is English and my mom is Brasilian, I was actually born in South Africa. But, because I only lived there for 6 years and don't have a single relative or friend there, I don't consider myself South African.
4) I'd like to adopt children one day, or work something out with a friend for her to have my baby. (Any volunteers?)
5) I'm one of the few Morrissey fans who is quite sure he is not gay.
6) I like to dance. And when I hit the dancefloor I usually stay there for 4 hours or more.
7) I have this gut feeling I'll one day live in France. I don't know under which circumstances but it is one of those certainties that nudges my insides from time to time.
8) I've only been with three men in my life. Two of them were a couple at the time. I've been with the third one for almost seven years now.
9) I'm so fed up with lazy horror movies that I'm determined to film my own one day. I might invite my Tamagothy friends in London to participate in it.
10) I am NOT plugged into Livejournal 24 hours a day.

Same here! I actually have a story on Tom Cruise: when I first moved to London, my boy and I shared an apartment with a couple of girls. One of them had a best friend who worked in a London restaurant called The Red Room, or something like that. It's very exclusive and her job was to serve the v.i.p. rooms. She happened to be the waitress one day for a very intimate dinner between Tom Cruise and a very dashing young man. Not to say that it couldn't have been an innocent dinner, but she made it obvious that there was major "chemistry" going on in that room between the two of them. ;)

I dont like the Simpsons either. In fact I hate it. I find nothing of interest in watching the antics of stupid people. Same with the Royle Family.

I am going to live in France one day as well! ;)

People who love The Simpsons seem to love it for the same reason they love Star Wars: nostalgia. But if they took a hard look today at it, they'd see it's not that funny and most of the jokes have an expiry date.

Maybe you and I will live together in France? :)

"I'm one of the few Morrissey fans who is quite sure he is not gay."

I recall the quote from Billy MacKenzie (The Associates) saying "Don't tell me Morrissey is celibate, I've seen him in the discos."

Hahaha best post I have read today. I didnt know anything above! Really interesting!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I have nothing to back my suspicions other than my gaydar (see Arkady's comment above) not tingling around him. Also, I believe Morrissey was good friends with Billy and they exchanged this type banter all the time during the 80s!

what are lazy horror movies?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The kind where a cat jumps from the shadows, where it's always a woman who survives (after much chasing and trauma), where the music tells you when you should be afraid...

[identity profile] suede.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmm... this describes the texas chainsaw masacre which is one of my fave horror films!

It was also one of the first of its kind... all the others that came afterwards copied it. I'd like to see more movies (and perhaps attempt one of my own?) which tried to scare in new ways.

The ring really scared me! Its the only scary one after the 70s (for me at least).

You want to make a horror movie? Hmm... You should use children, they are the scariest!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Argh!!! No! I actually believe that children spoil movies... very few movies with children are actually any good in my opinion. I want to use instead people who are unique, different, as the characters. I'm tired of movies with the generic american teenagers (jocks, cheerleaders, nerds). Maybe even a horror movie with only old people! Something different...

[identity profile] suede.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha Teen American movies are tge worst no matter if they are about horror or love!

But children are scary: The exorcist, The Omen, The Grudge, The Ring!

Old people is scary too, good point.

[identity profile] i-am-scowling.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
hahaha!

oh, he can dance, love, he can daaaaaaaaance.

if only flights to nightclubs in other countries [just for the night!] were free..

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Or the Concorde were still flying...

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The Omen isn't as scary anymore... I saw it again recently and was underwhelmed. I haven't seen the Grudge yet, but I agree that the little girl in The Ring is a freak! And The Exorcist is a classic. But other movies with kids are horrendous (in the bad sense.) I haven't seen The Sign but I could tell from the trailer it was going to be crap. And the list goes on...

[identity profile] suede.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"The Omen isn't as scary anymore..."

What can I expect from someone who doesnt like The Simpsons...

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL... The Omen did once scare me, just like The Simpsons did once amuse me... I guess I grew jaded or something!

[identity profile] suede.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It must be the child in me who is still scared and amused...

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I need to rescue my child then. ;)

[identity profile] suede.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hope you dont get too scared when you'll find him...

[identity profile] steer.livejournal.com 2005-03-27 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh... I'd like to be an extra in a horror film. I can shamble and groan if it is any help.
