Wacky Cults part 1

Tom Cruise and Scientology's leader David Miscavige, who are rumoured to have had a "very close" relationship over the years.

According to Radar Magazine's latest edition, David built for Tom a special compound in Scientology's Nevada "resort", with all the pleasantries money can buy. Tom and David would spend days alone in this compound, isolated from everyone else, sharing one bed, a small living room, kitchen, and a gym. Tom Cruise has now risen to become almost as powerful as David within the "religion", a step closer to assending to the highest rank.

Scientology Celebrities: Would you watch anything with them on it?

Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. Book 2, Chapter 5, Page 120 says, in part:

"The sexual pervert (and by this term Dianetics, to be brief, includes any and all forms of deviation in dynamic two such as homosexuality, lesbianism, sexual sadism, etc., and all down the catalog of Ellis and Krafft-Ebing) is actually quite ill physically."

When I was in University, I was very curious about this cult (I can't call them a religion with a straight face.) One of my professors was worried about this interest (unnecessarily so.)

For a few seconds I actually thought they were standing in front of a Stargate...

Beck is a sciento? Didn't know that. An additional reason to dislike him, excellent!

they seem like a religion to me - condemn homo acts for the riff-raff while the guys at the top go whole-hog

Yeah, I don't even know where to start.

The Operation Clambake website is a good combination of disturbing and amusing, though ;)

My favorite is reading the "high level" internal documents about the mirco-alien ghosts who were killed in past lives and other crazy shit like that.

Almost as funny as some of the David Icke stuff, although I haven't actually read anything of his, just had it recounted to me.

No, David Icke is infinitely more insane than any of these people, and I actually feel sorry for him because of the amount of fear he must live in. Reading the things he writes really freaks me out, not because I believe any of it but because he really seems to, and the things he believes would be absolutely fucking terrifying if they WERE true. What a life.

Oh! I completely forgot that Alan's father (a high court judge here) presided over a case about a woman who claimed to be brainwashed by scientologists. We sat in on the case one day and it was interesting. She won a few million euro.

Hubbard pretty much admitted on his deathbed that he created the religion as a tax shelter. So at least we know what god they're worshipping.
