I just assumed that people would choose their all time favourite as the one. Ultimately, you want something that you can watch over and over, but that you can love too. A film like "Dumb and Dumber", or "Groundhog Day" (for myself) might at first be thought of as perfect choices, but I wonder if we'd run out of things to learn from them, insight, and start craving more meaty stuff?

Maybe my favourite film is a really disturbing film noir or something, and while I love it, I can't watch it repeatedly.
Or a movie like Memento. Loved it but I have no interest in seeing it again.
