I've made a bet with Kevin: whoever gets a short story published first this year wins a book from the other one. He has been gentlemanly enough to send me a link to a Canadian Horror Story submission request. But I don't think I write horror anymore: nobody is horrified enough.

I quit sugar yesterday. Then I had a dream with a lollypop. How Freudian?

Bookslam event at the Cherry Jam tonight. Last time I went there, years ago, I saw Franz Ferdinand perform (when they were still unsigned). The theme for tonight seems to be afro-latino literature, with DJs in the mix. Not my cup of tea but I'm up for it.

okay... deal. you are at a bit of a advantage as i don't write much short fic anymores... did i ever send you 'the lovers'? it's got ants, and voodoo dolls and fears, drugs...
