Bloody Bookslam Jam

I've made a bet with Kevin: whoever gets a short story published first this year wins a book from the other one. He has been gentlemanly enough to send me a link to a Canadian Horror Story submission request. But I don't think I write horror anymore: nobody is horrified enough.

I quit sugar yesterday. Then I had a dream with a lollypop. How Freudian?

Bookslam event at the Cherry Jam tonight. Last time I went there, years ago, I saw Franz Ferdinand perform (when they were still unsigned). The theme for tonight seems to be afro-latino literature, with DJs in the mix. Not my cup of tea but I'm up for it.

Either... I think. Should we specify?

well, it's considerably harder to get published in print... and i don't know if i want my stuff just on the web or not as there is really no copyright or anything,... maybe i am being uptight and silly.

should we say print-only then? That way we can take pictures of ourselves holding up the book/magazine/newspaper as proof.

sounds like a deal... but let's also try and help one another/// and anyone else involved, so if you found cool publications then maybe we can share info.
i like the idea of the pic for the winner too.
smiles.

Thank you! I've been lazy and have not looked into this during the weekend, but I'll come up with some submission sites too.
