Hurry Down the Elevator Tonight

Santa Baby,

I can't decide what I want for Christmas this year. Should I get the calendar with Italian priests, French rugby players, or dachshund puppies?

If you had to choose one, which one would it be?

Love,

Me

I just found your LJ today so I'm sure my vote doesn't matter now, but rugby all the way. They are incredible. Maybe you mentioned this already but are they real rugby players? If I found out they were not then I might toss up between hot fake priests and hot fake athletes.

The rugby players are definitely real! There's even a good article here (http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1964897,00.html) about the difference between French and British rugby players.

Now, more than ever, I wish I lived in France. :-)

Wow. I've never had the desire to live in France until now. I didn't know French men could look like that. My image of them has mostly been of a smaller framed guy. I guess there was always strapping Belmondo, though, to show the other side of things.

Shame on me with my stereotypes! *slaps imaginary ruler over hand*

BTW, I will be in London all of next week into next year. Have you heard of anything interesting going on? I'm sure there are always great things, but anything in particular would be great, I'm trying to make a comprehensive list so I can zip around liek a madwoman.

I work at the National Theatre so I think you'd have fun checking out one of our plays: www.nationaltheatre.org.uk

I'm leaving for Canada on Monday, otherwise I'd be more than glad to show you around. Hmmm... in terms of nightlife, I would suggest you check out Button Down Disco: http://www.buttoneddowndisco.com/. If you sign up to their newsletter now, you can get a flyer which will allow you to get into their night for free (but otherwise it's only 5 pounds.) I used to go to their parties quite often and it's very fun and unpretentious (plus, you can request songs beforehand by e-mailing the DJ.)

What in particular would you like to do in London?
