I can't even watch it. My skin just crawls when I hear them sing...or the judges. Any of it.

They are in the top three now and one of the guys is from this area. He came back for the weekend (today) and the suburb he is from is throwing a parade in his honor. I had the news on this morning (Fox News is the only local that is still going when I am getting ready for work - I hate national news) and had to run out of the bathroom with my makeup half on to turn the tv off because I couldn't handle listening to his live 'beatbox' performance of the national anthem. It would have ruined my whole day.

I don't think we have anything similar in Britain, in terms of all out popularity. There are shitty reality shows for singers, but none get floats and parades!
