The Waiting Game

It’s 8:24am and breakfast is laid out for the small family hunting property in our locality. They leave today.

Although they like to eat at 9:30am I like to get everything out of the way as soon as possible. Then I sit in the kitchen with a book, my journal and coffee for company until they show up.

I woke up at 2:30am last night and couldn’t go back to sleep. As soon as they check out, I’m returning to bed.

I started reading that book but got distracted.

I can see that - the jumps from one character to the other in each chapter can make it hard to keep up (or care!) I’m reading 50 pages a week with fellow book club members and discussing it every Sunday, which is helping a lot.
