Allen Ginsberg Exercise #7

Sitting on a soft surface, a metallic object on my knees that emits sounds into a darkened room. Other songs outside and the low patter of rain.

In the guesthouse's living room, listening to the maids clear out some of the tables. They say it will rain all day.

Nose itches but I don't have to lift hands to block sneeze.

What is an Allen Ginsberg exercise??

Kevin learnt from a Ginsberg recorded lecture this exercise:

1st paragraph: try to describe everything around you as if you were an alien - you don't know their name, you are just describing sensations, what you see, etc

2nd paragraph: you now describe where you are at that moment, what's going on, etc

3rd paragraph: you grab the first sentence that crosses your mind.

I may give this a go, it sounds like a good way to conjure up LJ entries when your life gives you nothing interesting to write about.
