YOUR FAVOURITE ALBUM OF ALL TIMES>>>

yes... I want to know if you have a favourite album, that you would hold up above everything else.

Something that soothes you, or perhaps makes you mad... something that means a lot to you.

I want to know if I have it

And perhaps, if I don't, then I might go out and get myself a copy...

i hesitate a lot. i'm such a cd collectioner.
first as a U2 fan ... there are two albums i really love, "Achtung Baby" and "The Joshua Tree".
there is also "boy" for numerous reasons. all my childhood. shadows and tall trees when going to bed ...

there is the strokes' "is this it" ...

the vines' "highly evolved" that hadn't left me since august ...

so would you say then that it is something by U2, considering that The Vines and The Strokes are very recent and you might feel different about them in the future?

U2 is a huge part of my life, so yes, definitely U2.
though there is a lot about The Strokes and this album for me. I've seen the guys live and it blew me away. And about The Vines - there is something is the state of mind that defines me, so there is also something about it.

But if I were to choose it'd be U2.

OKey! now that we have boiled it down to U2, which of the albums is your favourite? : )

Achtung Baby ...
The Joshua Tree ...
Boy ...
All for very different reasons, as they just mean different moments of my life. I love them all, but lately I'm just into those three a whole lot more.

But do you listen to one of the three more than the others???

Gosh I don't think I could pick just one, but I'll try and narrow it down to a few.

About A Boy/Badly Drawn Boy - A beautiful record from start to finish. There are no weak moments. It's one you can play all day!
Parachutes/Coldplay - Lovely to fall asleep to.
The Optimist LP/Turin Brakes - Erm. Olly Knights.. enough said!
Sunset Studies/Augie March (http://www.augie-march.com) - The Australian contingent. Lush and very delicious music. I would definitely recommend attempting to find a copy!
...and I think anything Elliott Smith goes without saying!

I love The Optimist aswell... I haven't heard the others, though my boyf. has an Elliott Smith tape (I'll give it a listen and get back to you on my impression...)

But from this list, can you pick a favourite? ; )

A favourite? It was difficult enough to narrow it down to that list! If not something by Elliott Smith, I'd have to say the About A Boy soundtrack. It has this mesh of emotions that seems to fit no matter what type of mood I'm in. It can make me laugh, make me cry or just be the music of the moment. Badly Drawn Boy is a brilliant songwriter :)

Let me know what you think of the Elliott tape!

Alright! I'm going to sift through my boyf.'s mess and have a listen to it...
