feijoadas and suede

After getting lost for 2 hours and a half, I finally managed to find Luciana and her feijoada party. She even had to pick me up at a bus stop with her car and drive me to her home... when we arrived, everyone was sitting outside her garage, staring at me and eating.

Her friend Leslie thrust a plate of food on me, and someone else handed me a caipirinha. For the next hours, I spoke to Luciana's mom, her Brazilian friend Ligia (who works here as a waitress while studying English) and her roomate Yuki, from Japan.

By the end of the party, everyone was slightly drunk from the caipirinhas, beer, wine and Vodka+Softdrinks. I ended up speaking for a long time with Leslie, an American chinese woman, who is a football journalist. I couldn't place her age but then she started talking about when she went to see The Clash, and how Tracy Thorn, from Everything But the Girl once sold her a ticket to see The Smiths in The Royal Albert Hall... I told her about my love for Suede, and their upcoming gigs. She was excited about it and we have decided to go together (with Kevin aswell.)

In a few hours I'm heading to the ICA. Kevin and I decided to see Suede play their album Head Music.

Feeling Blah about Suede Fans.

The tickets for Suede's gig were sold out even before it went for sale... all the fans from the Official Suede Club got to buy the tickets beforehand.

And, of course, they bought tickets for the five nights.

I'm left praying for the band to book a large venue, like the Brixton Academy, and allow the public to experience some of their music.
