If I had lived a few hundred years ago, people would be lining up to toss me in the fire, cast stones at me, or sneak in the middle of the night to my cottage and buy love potions from my private collection. Instead, I'm here, in the beginning of the 21st century, layind down Tarot cards on my living room's glass table, waiting for that phone to ring and give me a dreamless job. If my neighbours knew of my communion with the forces of beyond, they'd probably recommend a NHS psychologist.

Here's another line of work opening for me: I am sitting at home, by the telephone, ready to read the Tarot for you.

I have good experience with this. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] lala_jones, who called me last evening for a prolongued session. She knows me from old and respects my exotic brazilian powers. Or you could ask [livejournal.com profile] icymorning, who comes to me for dreamwork interpretation and the Tarot. (Don't speak to [livejournal.com profile] phyrephly about this. The Tarot said her destiny was in the social services and she is busy, instead, writing a novel on male hustlers.)

So, if anyone is interested in figuring out their lives, just let me know and I'll get off the internet and sit by the phone. But I won't wait for long. There's only so much card-shuffling I can do before I'm bored.

Making plans to meet [livejournal.com profile] androktone right now, for coffee or beer.

Fun!

I just got back from the Devonshire, where I spent three hours with [livejournal.com profile] androktone. This is the second livejournal person I meet, and it was just as good as the first one. The pub was empty so we spent the hours talking about all kinds of things, drinking beer, and listening to Johnny Rotten. The conversation veered from cheery topics such as terrorism and murder to brighter ideas like Kevin and I becoming the godfathers of Harry. I'm sure Bekki was very drunk when she suggested this and will retract it tomorrow but, for now, I will enjoy the thought of sending birthday gifts to a 2 1/2 year old child in Luton who thinks I'm his godfather. In any case, Harry and Lillith will get a copy of Kevin's Suzie the Space Girl, a comic book that every child should have. (Check out http://www.ink-o-pinko.com if you want your own copy.)

I was also mildly tempted to take mushrooms with Bekki but, as I told her, it's been such a long time since I've done anything (*yawn*, I know) that I had to pass it up. I hope she eventually managed to free herself from the other goths that showed up afterwards and buy herself some mushrooms to take back to Luton. The aforementioned people were Flavius, a Venezuelan who's been living in England for 17 years, and Abbey, a jewellery-maker with long black hair and honey-coloured eyes. They both seemed very nice but completely uninterested in a non-goth person like myself. I quickly excused myself and did the bus journey home.

I'm starving and ready to eat whatever Kevin has thrown into the oven.
