Jul. 18th, 2004 11:16 amBy the time we got to the Big Brother complex, the gates were closed and we weren't allowed in. Something about an excessive amount of tickets having been distributed, but also a delay on our part (from missing the train.) We were stuck in some suburb in north London, full of tacky orange people who stared at us. So we headed back to London. I'm sorry if I couldn't hide my disappointment.
On the other hand, I can now say that I've met Melanie & Dave, tasted PIMMS for the first time in my life (fruity alcoholic drink, perfect for the Summer), learned a lot of gossip about people who I don't know and probably never will, peed in one of those toilets that automatically open their doors when you put 10pence in, got to the gates of the Big Brother compound (that is some kind of achievement, isn't it?), went to Weatherspoons in Angels, and learned that those colourful braids that goths wear can take up to 9 hours to be attached to the head.

Kevin and I put down our deposit and collected our new apartment's keys yesterday. Although we should only be moving in on Tuesday, the estate agent said we could start bringing in things today. We are filling up our suitcases with books and memorabilia this afternoon then heading over.
