Ready for Rio Grande do Norte

My home in a few days time

My brother and I have booked our holidays to Natal. Unfortunately, we are on the waiting list and we only find out tomorrow whether the flight leaving on Sunday has space for us. If not, then we'll go to Fortaleza.

If we go to Natal, we will be staying in a hotel on the Ponta Negra beach. The guy in the travel agency was trying to make us feel bad about staying in a 3-star hotel. But, as you can see from the website, it's quite alright! In fact, why should we care where we sleep if we are going to spend those seven days swimming in the sea, walking the sand dunes, visiting Natal's streets and generally getting our skins crisp as bacon? I only need a bed, a breakfast buffet and a functioning shower/bathroom to enjoy my holiday.

The hotel in Fortaleza is nicer, 4-stars, but I have a feeling we'll be going to Natal: we are paying straight up, something unusual in Brasil.

I had a look on the internet for any gay clubs, bars, etc in Natal and discovered that there's a place called Avesso Clubber. While browsing through their website, what was my surprise to find out that VIVE LA FÊTE did a show there!! <---- attention tete_glitter. Too bad they aren't playing next week - it would be a good excuse to go there. Otherwise, the club looks like your generic Brasilian gay venue, with gogo boys doing strip shows, drag queens and, I suppose, horrible house music. And, since I'm travelling with my brother, I don't think I'd want to take him to a place like that unless it was for a good show.

Our hotel also has internet. If it's not too expensive, I'll be able to drive you all insane with jealousy relate more about our trip to Brasil's Northeast region.
