Osho - One master and many many fools

I'm having a discussion with someone on Livejournal about Osho. This person is trying to convince me that Osho was a great spiritual leader and that there was some kind of "government conspiracy" to destroy him. I, on the other hand, think Osho is a big pile of turd in the form of an old Indian man, and further believe that I have more spirituality in my pinky finger than he had in his whole body. Osho is dead now, and not very missed.

I used to like Osho. I read some of his books in University; I was interested in his different styles of meditation (which included the kind where you fucky fucky and attain enlightment). Then I ran into his views on homosexuality. In my opinion, there is no possibility that an enlightened being can also think homosexuality is wrong. Because, if I believe that, then I might aswell kill myself or start sucking Reverend Fred Phelps spotty cock. It's the reason why I don't take Judeo-Christian religions seriously, the reason why I don't give a fuck if the Pope dies, don't care if a bomb blows away all those rabid homophobe preachers in the Middle East (or Middle America.) You can't sell love with one hand, and try to beat down people with the other. Fucking schizophrenic.

The funny thing about having arguments on Livejournal is that it sometimes reaches that point where the two parties want to leave the last comment. It's as if you win the argument if you leave a comment and the other person doesn't reply.

But I have to remind myself that arguing with religious people is always a lost cause. It's like screaming at a wall. You can't change someone's opinion about who they idolize... you can only feel sorry for them and hope that one day they will start thinking for themselves.
