I bought some Honey & Lemon Lockets in the corner store just outside Waterloo Tube. "It's Getting Hot in Here" was playing in the store; it wormed its way inside my ear then came out of my mouth in a spontaneous duet with my co-worker.

Did a tea run for the office at 10.30am. Took off my sweater because I was feeling warm. Received phone call from a member of the public, wishing to exchange her theatre tickets for better ones.

I shall be updating this journal on the hour today, until 6pm.

I like the new Morrissey album. I like it a lot. It's been growing on me like a Moz boner against my miserable buns, and it couldn't be more welcome.

The first track, with lyrics such as "nobody knows what human life is" and "I'll see you in far off places", reminds of the website that suggested Morrissey was an alien. Maybe Morrissey has been spending time on the internet, chuckling at all the crazies. From there, the album moves into sweet balads, old time pop, glam rock rip offs and classic misanthropic pieces ("Life is a Pigsty" is an amazing example).

With his previous album "You Are the Quarry", a lot of people were rightly disappointed because he seemed to have lost his ambiguity and ability for smart lyrics. It was all too clear who he hated, and whatever space he usually reserved for love was gone. With "Ringleader of the Tormentors", he re-visits the spirit of his previous solo work, taking whatever was best from each album and adding something more to it. With each listen, the album grows on me, to the point where I honestly don't think there are any duds.

This album has a space reserved in my suitcase to Brasil.

It's lunch time. See you in an hour.

I had cottage pie, spinach and chips (french fries in Americana) for lunch, with a tiny bottle of orange juice on the side. I told my co-workers about my plans for Easter; they told me theirs. When everybody excused themselves, I went to the foyer and did a quick writing exercise (from Ursula K. Le Guin's book Steering the Craft.)

I feel bloated and I'm sucking on another Honey & Lemon Locket. I haven't gone swimming in ages. Perhaps I should meditate on that for the next hour.

At 2.30pm, I took a dump. This usually happens after a large and satisfying lunch. Gillian McKeith would be proud of me.

Chocolate eggs arrived in the office and were summarily devoured by everyone except myself and the secretary: we still haven't given up our promise to abstain from sugar during Lent.

I have an appointment on Friday to check my eyes and get contact lenses. I'm going to something called The Insomniac Ball tomorrow night, where I shall see the British Sea Power, The Pipettes, and a few other bands.

My sweater is off again after being on for a couple of hours. Must be the tea that warmed me up. 59 minutes to go. Quickly dash this post out. Some people out of the office, some people typing away. I need to go for a walk and trail blaze. If you don't know what that means, you are probably lucky. Will have just a snack for dinner; it's better to eat a big lunch and something light at night. Don't think I'll be listening to Enya before we go to sleep like we did yesterday. I had dreams with people dressed as druids and elves. Worrying. Do like fantasy novels though, the few that are well written. Hard to find them. Prefer genre fiction that tries to break away from hackneyed stories. My boyfriend took the day off to work on his website. I'm jealous. Home soon. Just one more post to go, dear reader, and then I won't bug you anymore... today.
