More Twists Than an Episode of Lost
Jul. 29th, 2008 08:36 pmAbout 10 months ago, someone left me a comment on Livejournal asking for suggestions on brasilian literature. This person had a friend who wanted to buy a novel from Brasil (translated into English, of course) because her co-worker was flying to South America on the first stretch of a year-long tour of the world. It would be a present for her, an introduction to Brasil. Was that you
androktone who asked me about the novels? Or was it someone else? I can't remember...
The girl who flew to South America used to work in my current office. The girl asking around LJ for brasilian literature suggestions was
dollydiscord, my predecessor. I drew a list of books for a girl I didn't know, who worked in an office I couldn't dream of one day joining.
The links between us, when found, can vibrate with a strange and comforting resonance... as if there is meaning to everything, but what that meaning is remains ever elusive.
Another day, another freaky coincidence. Conversations on ghosts, witch covens, curses, clones, long-lost family members and magic no longer seem out of place.
