The End of Winter, Part 3

Alone all day on Sunday, happily ensconced indoors. My boyfriend has a puppet workshop to attend with a friend; I have hours to fill with books and films.

My three favourite things to watch when I’m low: the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice, Groundhog Day and (my choice for today) A Room with a View. I always come away wishing I’d written them, wishing I could write something like that one day.

I prepare some banana bread after the film is done. From the kitchen window I watch joggers up and down Hertford Union Canal. Spotify fills the flat with Puccini.
