Day 6 - Date

He messaged me on Daddy Hunt, an app that brings together young gay men and older gay men. The 21-year-old and the 44-year-old.

He said he was looking for a meaningful connection. Sex was great and everything, but he’d rather have a cup of coffee and get to know someone. Would I like to go see a film with him?

Tuesday 8.30pm, his day off, meet outside the cinema. We’d have half an hour before the film would start. I didn’t know what to expect. It turned out to be dubbed Star Wars.

I didn’t watch most of the film.

Day 7 - Laundry

Wake up with sunshine, put the laundry to wash. Hang it up then half an hour later comes a downpour.

Flip-flop run outside, prise the pegs, pull the sheets down, run back in for cover.

Steam rises around the horses eating grass by the guesthouse’s reception. The sun returns.

Outside once more with a basket of laundry, extend everything again. Will the horses brush against these sheets if they come this way?

Half an hour later, more rain. Another flip-flop dash, my T-shirt not yet dry from the last time.

Tomorrow, I’ll add all the horse manure to the compost.
