Day 97 - Comfort
Jul. 27th, 2020 03:11 pm2.30pm, I heat up two cups of water in the microwave then add two spoons of Nescafé plus whatever is leftover from the coffee thermos prepared under morning fog.
I hold out for – and can see – a big sky from where I sit in the guesthouse’s reception, beyond my laptop and pages of creative revision. I own this mountain but haven’t been to its cloudbusting top for decades.
My coffee accompanies Kate Bush’s “Hounds of Love” album. Mom and the cats take their afternoon nap. The sun is coming out.
(Every time it rains, London is here in my head.)
