ooh! One of our old houses, we were half convinced there were ghosts (despite me not believing in them, the house was cold and hostile with odd goings on and people who stayed felt "watched" and "threatened")
A friend who is into wicca suggested we make a bundle of dried sage twigs tied with string (a smudghe stick) and walked round every room singing loudly and beating pots and waving the smoke from the sage in all the dark corners, which I did with the kids.
We felt a lot better after that. Whether psychosomatic or not having a family ritual to clear the air is worth doing once everyone has started to think there are ghosts.
