Can you guess what it is?

I brought something to work with me that is making my mouth water.

It's 7 and a half inches long, hard, medium-thick. I open my drawer and I think about putting it in my mouth, nibbling it. I hope none of my co-workers see it, otherwise they might want a piece of the action.

Best of all, it's Canadian. Everybody knows Canadians are the best in this area.

I'm keeping my new friend in the drawer. I'm glad I have company for today, even if the inanimate kind.

hey

To make a serious comment on this post, as opposed to spam nonsense...

Amen, brother. God, I love those things. When I go to Canada for the Christmas break, I'm bringing back as many of those little beauties as I can carry. ^_^

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
I met a friend from Canada last night. She had asked me beforehand if I wanted anything from Canada, so I told her of how Kevin and I are addicted to Coffee Crisps...

I thought she would bring one for me and one for him... but she gave me a whole box, with 24 large ones!

:o)

[identity profile] thessalian.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, you lucky, lucky thing. I need friends like that. Wait -- I am friends like that...

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
:o)

I'll save a few for you, just in case you don't go to Canada...

have you got tickets already? how long are you going for?

[identity profile] thessalian.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Mum's got the tickets, actually -- it's a family trip, so it's a definite. We're leaving on the 20th and are away for a week. This way I don't have to take too much paid holiday and can use that for a trip to San Francisco instead. ^_^

[identity profile] ex-stanza602.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Never tried the orange ones. Coffee and orange. Ugh.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
i would give all the Coffee Crisps in the world to go to Montreal for a week...

you are luckier than me.

:o)

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
i bet they are swell.

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
hahahah I love this post...I will send you Canadian treats whenever you want!

[identity profile] dilvalicious.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'll send you canadian chocolate for some lion bars!

[identity profile] thessalian.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I suppose it depends on what you count as lucky. It's very much a family visit, which means I'll less be "going to Montreal" and more "going to see my sick, crotchety grandmother who happens to live in Montreal". But I get to see a hockey match. So I'm happy.

[identity profile] peraventure.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
oh...oh god! I need some of those! So listen, I need to send you money for British candies and it looks like I need to send [livejournal.com profile] thessalian some for Canadian candies when she goes there. Waitaminnit, there's no way I can send you money for Brit candy, our dollar is too low against the pound. BUT! We still have one up on the Canadians. So How about I send her a buttload of money for coffee crisps, she brings you extra extra back and you send me some cadbury mint crisps and violet crumbles? hahahaha...wheelin' an' dealin'.

[identity profile] peraventure.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
or, I know! an exchange program! you send me yummy british candies and I send you crazy japanese candies I can get here. or some other candy you like. candy! please candy!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
well... this friend just gave me last night a box with 24 of them! it's party time at my house!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
lion bars? minging!!!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
and you'll have all those hours when she's napping to walk around Montreal! Any other plans for your visit there?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
well, maybe you can ask her to send you cadbury mint crisps when she comes back! otherwise all this juggling of candy might melt them.

;o]

[identity profile] peraventure.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
um, you know what? I totally had not woken up by the time I sent that. I'm still a little sleepy. NO BRAIN! duh, that's how it should go!

but hey, points for complexity, right?

[identity profile] peraventure.livejournal.com 2003-11-25 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
*snicker* no, um, just no! I haven't had any at all! I don't think I'd even had any coffee by that time!

I'm just sugar's bitch, unfortunately.

btw, where can I see an archive of some of your writing? I've enjoyed the wording of certain posts.

[identity profile] thessalian.livejournal.com 2003-11-26 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
We arrive on Saturday, late and jetlagged; we're gonna have sushi at a place Mum showed me last time run by actual Japanese people (I can practice!). Spending Sunday in Ottawa with a friend of the family. Monday's the hockey. Tuesday will be shopping -- cheaper to buy Christmas presents there than here. Then is Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. After that, we fly home. So there's not going to be a lot besides family. But hey, it's Christmas.

[identity profile] thessalian.livejournal.com 2003-11-26 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I get my Japanese sweets at Oriental City (it's sad when you're learning kanji and kana predominantly to read food boxes) but thanks for the offer. My question would be how the hell I get you Canadian sweets once I buy the buggardly things?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-11-26 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
and the shopping will be fun. When I went this Summer, I felt very rich with the conversion rates.

[identity profile] peraventure.livejournal.com 2003-11-26 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
mail 'em in Canada? cheep.
