They just do...the first one I like the best and it reminds me of a crazed person just let out of the psycho ward, hiding in the bushes to ruin the families sunday picnic...so that's just creepy. I wrote in detail why I didn't like the rest but I figured it's just irrelevant...also I was afraid you knew Markus & Ziad...the pictures just give me an overall feeling of dishonesty. Nothing seems to be quite what the phtographer is trying to show(?) They're just creepy to me...make my face sour and leave an uneasy feeling in my stomach.

I'm so glad that you like them though...it's always awesome to find art you really feel and love! ♥

that's very interesting what you wrote... i would have loved to read more on your thoughts!

I think Oliver Sieber, who took the photos of Markus and Ziad, is a bit of a profiler: his work is about documenting the mod and skinhead scene in Germany and Austria. Some of the photos in his collection are mesmerizing, you can't tell if the person is a man or a woman. They have a glazed look, a jaded look -- which is a bit unerving. It's almost as if they weren't human, but only style! Or as if they were dead... they have that sense of ageness, I think.

As for the other photographer, I love his documenting of the rockabilly and hell's angels in Switzerland... i like the narrativity of his photos, as if they are telling these very intricate stories (fiction) --- but which actually happened!

Once I get the books, I'll try scanning more photos.

;o)

what artists do you like?

I'm not really up on art...I'm not sure why b/c I readily enjoy most things I see...I'm a dork I don't know. I like the pre-raphaelites...mostly romantic, blurry looking art...never been one for abtrsact or "too" modern.

i also wish I had more time to enjoy art... either just sitting down and drawing or going to a museum.
