Snow is on the way

It's a busy monday for me. It will go fast, which is a blessing. My last monday in this office. I just walked past the secretary who substituted Megan many months ago, and she said to me in that characteristic voice that all secretaries have:

"Oh, it's Monday!"

I just nodded and smiled. Inside, I was screaming:

Yeah, and the last Monday you will see me!

We had a wonderful sunny weekend. I'm convinced God did it on purpose, because he knows there is some bad shit motherfucking weather coming our ways. It's God's way of saying:

"There, have some sun and some chirpy birds. Walk down the streets and buy yourself an ice cream cone. You think Spring has arrived? Hmph..."

Meanwhile, I'm screaming in my head:

The weather forecasts! The weather forecasts!

Our phone has been disconnected, most of our stuff moved to the new apartment. We are still in the old place, slowly letting go. Some dishes left behind, books, shower curtains, toothbrushes... Nothing that can't be thrown in a suitcase and quickly hauled to the new apartment.

Our roof terrace is the loveliest in London.

I'm so happy for you guys! Are you going to feng shui the place? I think I need to do that to Cole's room (he never wants to play in there) and do some bansihing while I'm at it. Buy some sage. Don't forget to smudge your mirrors too.

The place seems perfect for feng shui. It's very well set up, architecturally. What is bansihing?

I cleaned all the mirrors... should I smudge them with sage? What is that supposed to do?

Mirrors are portals for things that come to visit uninvited. Smudge it to close the portal. You can say "I close this portal in the name of the most sacred Goddess. I command that it stay closed." Say it 13 times. Or you can just make up your own doodad that holds power for you, this is what a friend of mine had said when she had encountered bad things with a mirror of her own. Banishing is kinda like cleaning house, spiritually speaking. I know Cole has entities in his room that don't belong there...he sometimes wakes up screaming like you've never heard a child scream! Almost like something's purposely scaring the shit out of him. It's a mother's worst nightmare.

We have a mirror in every room! It came with the apartment... kevin and I were talking about it, we are not comfortable with so many mirrors... but what exactly should I use to smudge the mirror?

and what are you going to do about Cole's room?

[identity profile] ickycrawlything.livejournal.com 2004-01-27 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
I would smudge it with sage and pretty soon just to avoid possible annoyances or worse. You should always do that even if it's a small mirror you bought at the drug store!

Cole's room is in the making...

That seems like such an intricate ritual! How did you get into Magick?

[identity profile] ickycrawlything.livejournal.com 2004-01-27 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
It has to be all that and more for me to be sure that he'll be safe at night! Hmmmm. Let's see I think it was Amber, [livejournal.com profile] wych that started me on my path. Hahaa path! She used to leave books open of the table for me to peak at...she's so cool. Then I met Cory and we dated for 5 years and in those 5 years I learned quite a deal from him...Amber's a Wiccan and Cory is a Chaos Spiritualist. I've dabbled in the many different lights and darks of magick.

When I was 8 years old my mother gave me a pack of Tarot cards. Since then, I've loved reading about the occult, about esoteric traditions and rituals.

Was she a Witch? What have you read that you've enjoyed?

My grandmother was very into magick and I didn't know until my teenage years. It's a shame she didn't share that with me sooner.

My mom is a non-practicing Catholic with a lot of interest in Buddhism. But she also loves mediums, spiritism and tarot cards. I think she wanted me to learn the Tarot so I could read for her.

=]

Is your grandma still alive? Does she talk about magick with you now?

[identity profile] ickycrawlything.livejournal.com 2004-01-29 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's cool...most catholics don't condone magick of any sort even though catholicism is jammed packed with the stuff. I was raised strict catholic. Shocking!

My Grandma is still alive but I don't see her or talk to her much...she's kind of like a gypsy now, always moving around. When I have spoken to her for any lengthy amount of time she's passed on some cool stories and tricks. Most I already knew though :(

I have a lot of books on the occult if you ever want to borrow them.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2004-01-29 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
Which book would you suggest I read first? Maybe I can find it here in England...

[identity profile] ickycrawlything.livejournal.com 2004-01-29 09:42 am (UTC)(link)
Depends on what you're into...chaos magick, wicca, astral projection, dreamworks, tarot, candle magick, runes, dark magick...

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2004-01-30 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
tarot... although I have two books, I'd love to read more.
