All day all day, domino dancing...

I'm bored with Livejournal. Yet... I think the problem is with me.

Heh, yes, it kind of gets you through the average tedious working day - if only because everyone else is just as fed up as you are!

I have always used mine as a personal diary rather than a public announcement service and like it for that aspect as well as because it facilitates staying in contact with people but on the other hand I am really fed up with some of the other users and find the continual stream of memes and quizzes and those ugly text box things really wearying.

I've been trying to use mine as a creative outlet, and also for humour. But it's the whole giving and taking - feeling that you have to read some abominable entries because people are reading yours - that is getting to me.

*nods*

I know what you mean. I have taken quite a few people who are friends off my default view because they annoy me online which makes me feel really guilty as I imagine they would be quite hurt if I told them that...

I have luckily managed to get rid of all the truly abominable people though by a process of stealth and cunning - things have improved a lot since I don't have to wade through bigoted, pseudo depressive, whiney, self righteous crap on a daily basis! Next I will be starting on the people who post memes and quizzes all the time...

Yep - I think we use our journals in a very similar fashion. As a write-up of what we've been up to, plus arranging things and stuff. And ticky boxes asking for opinions. Which is how it should be; and then people can comment saying "yeah, I did that!" or "tell me more about the giant artichoke?" or even "well done on passing your doctorate in EastEnders Studies!" Not pages and pages of crap memes that nobody cares about except yourself. Some surveys are okay, but that's because you're finding out new stuff about someone. Finding out which Buffy character they are is not informative.
