Doggie Bag, Low Brow

I've been chatting away with [livejournal.com profile] sparklielizard all morning and she inspired me to post some pictures of my dogs in Brazil. Most of my friends have been going on about their cats or their mice, so I figured it was about time I fawned over some pets of my own. Honestly, I do miss them loads. Pets don't demand anything from you other than fun, attention and food. They are a bit like family, without the recriminations and drama (except when they are hungry, or they hear the word w.a.l.k. and get all agitated.)

They are all living with my mom at the farm, so all the scenery is from Corrego do Bom Jesus (the name of the nearby village).

This is Tony. My mom found him on a dirt road She posted ads everywhere but, after nobody showed interest in collecting him, she decided to keep him as a guard for the house. He weighs about 60Kg and can knock you over if you are distracted.

And here is Tony on a walk with Tamis and my brother (who photographed this) around the hills nearby.

This is Tete. Some people call her, unfairly, a "spoiled little princess that likes to piss everywhere" (I'm quoting my boyfriend). She has chewed off the face of a couple of aunts of mine who dared speak to me in her presence. She doesn't sleep outside with the rest of the dogs. And she won't let any other dog inside the house when she's there. She's such a cutie.

This is Marcelinho, one of Tete's 7 children. The vet said he was slightly obese, but I like to think of him as big boned. He's been lately getting a lot of exercise in the morning by running up the mountain to bark at the cows (as if they cared!) then running back down.

If you squint your eyes, you can see Tete, Marcelinho, and her daughter Radija ("the cross-eyed one", according to my brother) doing their matinal race up the mountain to bark at the cows. Can you guess which of the three is wearing a winter coat?

hahaha I love it when dogs bark at things that could care less like cows or potted plants.

My mom says that every morning they run up the mountain, bark at the cows for a few minutes, then run back down. The funny thing for me is that they are so tiny, almost like little rodents, and yet they think they are bossing around these giant cows.
