Tuesday's Bleak Sanctuary of Mememeness

It took me forever to fall asleep last night. Woke up grumpy and tired, with an itchy throat and a black cloud hanging over my head. Work is... work. Feel the same about it as all of you - despondent, lazy, devious, truculent and demode.

Some new year's resolutions:

- Not watch any movies with the following actors: Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks, Goody Goody Junior, Tom Hanks, Nicholas Cage, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
- Not watch any movies where Tom Cruise plays a good guy or/and a heterosexual.
- Watch more obscure "foreign" movies.
- Be more like Miss Jane Marple and solve tons of mysteries.
- Swim loads.
- Eat less chips and crisps.
- Get a job that makes me feel passionate, excited and/or happy.
- Cut down my Livejournal friends' list without feeling guilty and/or mean.

No, never! At the time, Brazil was in a dictatorship so we had a limited amount of "foreign" tv programmes.

whoa, dictatorship! the things I don't know about South America, geez!

well, maybe find them at the library now just to see what they're like. I remember being excessively impressed, but then I was in elementary school, maybe middle school.

Are they books that would be interesting to an adult?

Hmmm...I think so, but I'm not sure. I still go back and read some of the books I used to love as a child, but that may be just nostalgia. At the very least get one and see what you think.

I still pick up The Indian In The Cupboard (set in England!) and The Girl With The Silver Eyes every few years. Oh, and My Side of the Mountain, which is like, every kid's "I'm gonna run away from home" book. Or it should have been.

Do you think they have a website? I'll look for it on Amazon on my lunch break. ;-)

oh heck, just see if you can find 'em in the library, don't buy it unless you know you'll like it. But I think it should have the longevity of Nancy Drew or whatever. Good!

Ok! I'll check out my local libraries. They have big children sections. Thanks!

*pout* I have to go to class now. *lower lip wiggles impressively*

Awww... it will be fine. Have fun in class.

It's the Death and Dying Professional Development class. Not so fun. But it's just today. I'm in the library talking to Cute LIbrary Boy, though. I'm so tempted to ask him on a date. Have to talk to Josh. But I don't think he'd be into dating Josh and me both. *shrug* Just a crush, then.
