Chegando na Mata da Bahia

Holiday is booked!

We are going to Arraial D'Ajuda in Bahia. We leave on the 12th and will be staying at Pousada Cheiro Verde for seven days.

I'm so fucking relieved this is sorted. I only have to drop by the travel agency tomorrow and leave the checks. Then, this Sunday I'm taking a nightbus to São Paulo. I'll be staying with my friend Henrique for the week until my trip to Bahia. He asked me if I wanted to go to his beach house in the Riviera de São Lourenço as soon as I arrive in São Paulo. Hmmmmm... let me think about that one!

Wow, it looks so beautiful there. There's lots of music and art happening in Bahia, isn't there? And is that where "cundumbleh" comes from? You'll have to take lots of photos. And bring me back a cuica!

Ok, will look for a cuica! If not, i'll just get my brother to make you one.

It seems like there's tons of stuff to do there. We are near to Porto Seguro, the first place the Portuguese set foot when they "discovered" Brasil! So there are museums dedicated to the discovery, as well as to the indigenous people.

Arraial D'Ajuda is an ecological sanctuary, so there are trails in the woods, parks and other things like that. I think it should be fun!

All looks lovely ...I'd swap you cold old England in a nano-second ...though hopefully going to Bilbao at Easter to try and revive my dying Spanish - and see lovely art and such too
