Life at the Farm, so far
Yes, I am bored; yes, I have nothing to write about; yes, I'm listening to Enya's Best of because I found it in my mom's CD collection; yes, I spend way too much time on the internet and don't go outside; yes, I'm losing that beautiful tan I got in Bahia.
But I did not write an ode to the Lima Beans!
I wish I had any news. But I don't. My brain can make some assumptions about what's going on in the world, include some commentaries about TV shows and late night movies. Would you like that? Tonight, for example, I'm watching Halloween: Ressurection (it's the one where the dum-dum teenagers think they are in a reality tv show.) I'm watching all the movies my boyfriend would never let me watch in London - getting them out of my system. I also watch the esoteric channel Infinito, or E! Entertainment. The esoteric channel has a show with a medium and it's entertaining to see his hocus pocus with the credulous public. It's like Oprah for the ouija board world. Then, over at E!, there'sThe Crucible The Michael Jackson Trial. It still freaks me out that they have the court proceedings of the day re-enacted with actors that look like all the major players! I wonder about all those actors that have been paid to sit as the jurors. That's their job: sit all day. I bet they are temps.
During the days I... do nothing. The dogs follow me around everywhere and whine if I close a door on their face. My mom and grandma have their pills to keep them happy; I have Livejournal. I eat bread & butter for breakfast and dinner. The only consistent meal comes during lunch time, so I pack in as many fruits as I can be bothered during the day. Sometimes, I retreat to my bedroom in the afternoon to read, write letters, stare at the mountains, stare at nothing. Sometimes I get agitated and run around for a few minutes outside while the dogs try to leave mud marks on my clothes. Then I sit on a bench and stare at the trees, the mound of sand that the construction workers brought over, the dogs, or nothing at all.
My brother Nicholas was in the hospital for the past few days, with pneumonia. I didn't feel like mentioning it because I knew it was going to be ok. He's home now, safe and sound. In a week's time I will catch a plane to London.

Butterbean
Yeah, if you go down to Athens, G-A
And you're driving in your car
You won't get very far before
You hear people shoutin' out!
What's that?
Buterbean! Yeah!
Gramps and grannies
Kids in their teens
Junkyard dogs and campus queens
Yeah, everybody likes butterbeans
Don't you wait, don't you linger
Butterbean don't slip through my fingers
Pass me plate full, I'll be grateful
1-2-3-4
Pick 'em, hull 'em, put on the steam
That's how we fix butterbeans
(Fix 'em hot hot hot)
(Yeah, make 'em jump outta the pot)
Come here you little butterbean you come on!
Butterbean-butterbean
Butterbean-butterbean
Butterbean-butterbean
Butterbean-butterbean
Butterbean grows on the vine
Some people are fat, some people are lean
But I want you to show me the person
Who doesn't like butterbeans
Yay!
Well, you can have your yams
You can have your collard greens
BUt if you want to please little ol' me
You better fix butterbeans
Don't you wait, don't you linger
Butterbean don't slip through my fingers
Pick 'em, hull 'em, put on the steam
That's how we fix butterbeans
(Fix 'em hot hot hot)
(Yeah, make 'em jump outta the pot)
Fix 'em for me now
The Love Casket!!

Hmm...think I had something else to say about this post, but I forgot it. I'm going to sleep. Wanna snuggle? But shut the door on the dogs, please.
