oh I love that show too. At first I was all against it, because I love Law and Order so much. but I like this CSI show now. It's pretty damn good.

Have you seen all three C.S.I.'s or do you mean the Las Vegas one?

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
oh I don't like the New York one, for some reason I just can't get into it.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Me neither. I don't like the characters; they all lack charm. Miami slowly grew on me and now I quite like them - perhaps just as much as Las Vegas.

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah they are trying to hard to make it gritty or something. Plus honestly the sun shines in New York, but every single episode I have tried to watch it's all dark and cloudy. I mean really?!

I love Miami. I don't know why. I think it's because all the characters are so fucked up. Lol

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Miami is more of a soap, with Horatio's love for his sister-in-law, the story of how his brother got hooked on drugs and died, plus that chick with the gun fetish who has an alcoholic father... not to mention the lady who dissects the bodies and talks to them! The characters are more interesting than the NY ones.

Do you still watch your beloved Law & Order?

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course!!! I could never ever stop watching it! I actually try and watch all three of them. I especially love special vitims unit too. Although there have been a couple of triggering episodes I couldn't watch, but it's a really good show.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think I know which episodes you mean. Everytime I watch Special Units, I feel like I'm watching the grizzliest episode ever made.

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, some of it's pretty crazy. But those ones are more like the old Law and Orders, you could never figure out who it was until the end. Now it's more about challenging laws and crap like that. I still love it, it's just not as twisty turny as it was before.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
There's only so many twists you can take before you run out of them! I guess they ran out of surprise endings.

We are all watching entirely too much TV!

Keith (mi esposa) and I love CSI (Miami and LV, but also haven't gotten into the new one with Gary Sinise...)AND SVU!!! And we're counting the days until Big Brother comes on (July for us...)

I wish you guys could watch the British version of Big Brother... it's so much better than the American one! At least, from what I've seen of the US version. :)

[identity profile] 4q.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
But the other two are good

[identity profile] tete-glitter.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Adoro CSI! Eu vi numa propaganda que o Tarantino vai dirigir (ou já dirigiu?) um episódio, quero muito ver!

Acho que ja dirigiu... mas nao assisti.

I have watched several episodes of CSI in Las Vegas, but have stopped because the episodes are too reminiscent of each other --- too clever in the same way every week, & the surprise plot twists come about at the same point in the story; it's very much like an author who's novels remind you of his other novels as if he were writing a similar story every time until he got it right; I enjoy Law & Order, but it too suffers from the same problem -- most of its episodes are indistinguishable from the others. Maybe I expect too much..

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-06-17 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with you; there does seem to be a plot formula they all stick to. A few episodes, specially in the C.S.I. Miami, have been slightly different, more like a soap. It would be more interesting if they developed stories over various episodes... might be something in their future.

I ♥ CSI.

Although, I too have not been able to enjoy NY as much as the others. I believe the original is still the best. Even better now that they've decided it's time to show a little bit more of the characters personal lives.. for a little bit is better than nothing or too much!

My brother cannot stand Miami. He says every episode ends with Horatio looking off to the sunset, putting his sunglasses on. He is the hero though :)

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2005-06-19 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Horatio can be a bit grating - specially the way he talks like a hunchback... still, that's his character and it does make him stand out.
