Recap the Weekend

Friday I left work early (5pm) and sat outside the National Film Theatre with my colleagues for a pint of beer, conversations about how long I would be staying in the department (they keep me hanging on), and the 7 years of my relationship with Kevin which might one day turn into a marriage. At night, watched Big Brother and went to bed early.

Saturday, I missed Jellyfish Girl's phone call because I was at the swimming pool (first time in ages). Took myself to HMV afterwards and bought The Raveonettes' new album, plus Maximo Park and Editors. Love them all. When I heard Jellyfish Girl's voice on the answering machine, I called & called Novotel till she returned the call and we spoke on the phone with me imagining her from all the photos I've seen over the years on Livejournal - and a gasp when I heard about the seed of one boy going into the mouth of another boy; I thought it had been a silly throw away statement (like so many on Livejournal), but it was the truth. She whispered that secret into the phone.

Sunday, a walk downtown to buy two Gamecube games (Splinter Cell and Paper Mario) and for Kevin to return a stapler to Gosh Comics. On returning, we sat in Regent's Park and ate our Sainsbury's sandwiches. Somewhere in the park, we could hear music. People were taking Tango lessons. The public could join the old couples, or the Japanese lady with the stylish glasses and short hair, as they moved slowly around the crowd's circle. Families sat on picnic blankets nearby, toddlers smiled at each other. I said: "If SuperJ were here, she'd want to join the dancers." We watched them for a few minutes and, afterwards, Kevin said: "I guess we'll have to get married if we go back to Canada." I replied: "Maybe we shouldn't go back to Canada." On leaving the park, by the mosque near the western gate, three muslim boys tasted of mint chewing gum.

Back at the apartment, cleaned the bathrooms, played videogames, ate some cookies Kevin baked, ate chicken wraps, watched Big Brother and went to bed early... but couldn't sleep for hours and when I finally woke up today I felt as if I'd been tired all weekend.

I was just thinking, "Aww, if I were there I'd try to make him tango with me!"

Are you going to see the Editors at The Scala next week?

Hello.
Just wanted to stop by and greet you, I am a friend of Vilhem’s and while I would like to say I just stumbled upon your page, well that would really be a downright fib. I admit I have recently become quite enraptured with reading your tales of London life. I said goodbye to England a long time ago, but remember fondly some of the places that you mention. Hope that makes me an admiring reader and not a lurker, (hmm, that just sounds sinister) .
I read you are writing a book, how's it going?
Good luck with it.

:D
Guess which albums I purchased on Saturday ?
Editors, Maximo Park ...and ...Clor - oh well- nearly the same :) - plus I completed my Virgin addict card and think I'm going to get The Raveonettes album with my free tenner.
Yes - are you going to The Scala to see Editors ? - if so - I'll see you there - after I managed to miss out on tickets to see 'em in Bedford (grrrr)

Also - scarey movies - Skeleton Key - I enjoyed it muchly ...apart from the annoying chatting teenagers (Rich told them to 'Shut the fuck up!' when they were still talking loudly ten minutes into the film ...and they did - I love my bloke )

I loved talking to you. It felt like we were old friends. Someday we WILL meet, dabnammit!
For now, I am content with the fact that I can picture some of the places you mention, and I have actually heard your voice.
xo

Am I missing something here?!
