More on 2005 (but probably the Last of It)
Ops! I actually did have some New Year's resolutions for 2005 (I wrote in a recent survery that "I never have NY resolutions").
Let's see how I did:
- Not watch any movies with the following actors: Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks, Goody Goody Junior, Tom Hanks, Nicholas Cage, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
I failed miserably with this one: I watched one of the worst movies ever made at the end of the Summer, You've Got Mail, which had both Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in it. I know some people on my LJ who like these actors/movie, so I apologize for not being able to stomach them (yet I did watch the thing till the end... maybe I'm deceiving myself when I say I don't like them?)
- Not watch any movies where Tom Cruise plays a good guy or/and a heterosexual.
I didn't watch any of his movies, though it could be said that I failed again because I had at least two posts dedicated to him in this journal.
- Watch more obscure "foreign" movies.
Definetly failed this one. Foreign films came to me through BBC4, or DVDs borrowed/given by friends. But nothing stood out as obscure.
- Be more like Miss Jane Marple and solve tons of mysteries.
No crimes happened in my parish in 2005. I was able to dedicated myself more to the church, my knitting and indulge in harmless gossip with my neighbours.
- Swim loads.
No problems with this one.
- Eat less chips and crisps.
I cut down on my chips intake yet I was still buying crisps with my lunch everyday. Bad me.
- Get a job that makes me feel passionate, excited and/or happy.
Oh yes! Go Team Ollie!
- Cut down my Livejournal friends' list without feeling guilty and/or mean.
Like my gut, my LJ friends' list keeps expanding and there's nothing I can do about it.

Tom Hanks is just boring.

Tom Cruise infuriates me. The interview he gave on Oprah, denouncing Brooke Sheilds for taking antidepressants and then going on to say "I've read the history of psychiatry!" and various other blatant lies (I doubt he can read) was just ennervating. Apparently he seems to think that Xemu or Xenu or whoever will help people deal with amine imbalances in the brain, not medications created to do, uh, just that.

In Tom Cruise's case I'm not sure there was much of a brain to wash, though. I'm constantly baffled at how he manages to memorise his lines for his movies.

I figure Cruise has hired hands to help him.

If it wasn't for the fact that "Hackers" is one of the best movies EVER, she would be on my Bad People List with Hanks et al.
