If you could own only one film, which one would it be?

I just assumed that people would choose their all time favourite as the one. Ultimately, you want something that you can watch over and over, but that you can love too. A film like "Dumb and Dumber", or "Groundhog Day" (for myself) might at first be thought of as perfect choices, but I wonder if we'd run out of things to learn from them, insight, and start craving more meaty stuff?

Well I can still rent. :) But that's the movie I'd choose to own because that's the movie I'd come back to more than any other.

And meaty stuff can come from many other sources than movies.

I have to say I really enjoyed this little exchange. Your take on the question was really interesting and I liked your line of reasoning on the backup of your choice.

Yes, I'm that bored. I'm reading all the comments to this post.
