Ok, so i realise i'm not the first to post, but i wanted to tell you that i've just finished reading Velocity by Dean Koontz - not my usual thing, but it was fantastic, with a great twist at the end.

i've started reading another, Body Double by Tess Gerritsen, which i'm not enjoying as much, which is rather annoying.

If I'm not enjoying a book I immediatly put it down. There are just too many good books in this life to be read so it's a shame to waste your time on something crap.

I tried reading a Dean Koontz novel once but was really annoyed by his style. So that was that; I don't think I'll ever read anything by him again (I'm extremist like that sometimes.) ;-)

Oooh - I used like Mr Koontz when I was a teenager - now I re-read his books and think they're really lame - he recycles certain character types endlessly.

but, I will any ways! I read this long time a go, it is still a favorite. interesting the author is famous for her horror novels and i have never been able to read any of them. this book is not horror,,,

It's part of a series, isn't it? I've been meaning to get the other ones (my library has them.) I'm kinda attracted to apocalyptic fiction/films.

and yes I believe it is part of a series, but as I said I was not able to get in to any of the others.
for the apocalyptic fiction category of reads, I just thought of one I rather enjoyed. It was called "Ecotopia" (published mid 80's) I don't remember or have time to look up the auther, but it was a good read. It was a bout California seceeding from the USA...

I got denied for a visitors one to st petersburg. (it was to be a stop on my up coming tour.) no reason given, I am just looking in to it, trying to find out why. some one told me they have been hasseling the gays. also I do have a few anarchistic moments shadowing me from the past,,,, who knows, the shrub is probable intercepting this very message! hehehe,,,

Plans for moving back to Canada keep changing. At the moment, if the NT keeps me hired, we'll stay longer in London. But, if I find myself again without a job, and if Kevin can't find anything decent, then we'll probably try our luck in Canada. Because I have a university degree from there, my chances of immigrating are higher. Also, we can now get married if we so wish ---

i wish i could submit to this. but i've got shelves and shelves of books i haven't read. lately, i've been rereading 'wicked' by gregory maguire so my friend and i can form a pitch for some agents he knows. nothing will probably come of it, but i love the book so much and really want to make an accurate film version of it because the musical had crapfuck to do with the book; this bastardized prettied-up whore mockery of what is a significantly deeper tale than what was allowed on the broadway version. don't get me wrong, i still have a soft spot for the play. but only because i'm a big homogeek with musicals. i stand by the story sucking bigtime. anyway, tangent. but when i put that book down, i've been picking up the ali smith you sent me. i'd already read the first excerpt and the second piece when i first got it and kept meaning to pick it back up. it's so small i could finish it in one sitting, but i find myself wanting to flood my head with the words. read them slowly. have it on my nightstand so i can see it and think about it longer. how the ... i don't know, i want to use the word 'monologues'... are woven. and i keep wanting to tell you how much i love it. so thank you again. it was a really lovely gift. i'm enjoying it quite a lot. yay books.

Ali Smith is brilliant! She's got a new novel, called "The Accidental", which I'm just waiting for it to be released on paperback form to buy. I read "Hotel World" by her and it was amazing too.

I've got shelves and shelves of books too which I haven't read, but I was feeling like tempting my friends when I wrote this post, and tempting myself to read something different. I half-expected someone to suggest "War and Peace" or something just as long, but thank god nobody did!

Argh! I can't believe I'm late. As pretty usual, hahahaha... ok, maybe next time :)
