Random 100 Results plus Other News

The 100 Random People MeMe (or [livejournal.com profile] woolgathering's more aptly named "Festival of Friends") came to an end today.

Out of the 100 people I added, 14 added me back. Additionally, 2 people who were randomly wandering LJ Land were intrigued enough by the experiment to join my friends' list. On top of that, one of [livejournal.com profile] woolgathering's friends noticed that I was friends with her brother and sister-in-law, sparking an additional friending, and someone who had deleted me from their list back in September added me back.

As far as I know, three other LJ users took part in this experiment. I would be curious to learn their findings.

In other news, I've been in contact with the editor of a queer publication in America called "Distant Horizons" and I'm working on a short story to send to him. And my friend Henrique, whom I'm visiting for a week while in Brasil, is buying tickets for us to see Echo and the Bunnymen in Sao Paulo on the 29th of April.

I'm waiting two more days before I start getting rid of everyone who didn't add me back. And I'll still give yet another week to the people who are fairly interesting. So far, only 1 person has added me back, and 2 people have left comments asking me to remove them, one of whom gave the reason "Hitler's an asshole."

Good luck with the story submission.

Looks like I might've had some luck with a short story myself but I'll announce it on LJ when I know for sure what the deal is.

Were you ever into the band Drugstore? The singer was from Brasil. They used to play with Kitchens Of Distinction a lot; whom I'm sure you would have liked if you've never heard them.

I have 19 new friends from the experiment!
I'll wait and see :D

Glad the "festival of friends" response has gone positively. I thought it was most gregarious and quite brave of you and woolgathering to do.

Good luck with the short story, Ollie! It would be really great and about bloody time for you to have a story published.

When do you take to the skies, Mr? Me in about two weeks. You never know, we might pass over the Atlantic. : D

hi. this is actually unrelated to your post and a little creepy, but i sincerely hope you take it into account. where did you find that userpic depicting the young boy in pink? i'd love to sketch him, but alas, 100x100 isn't nearly large enough for me to go by.

input? it would be greatly appreciated.

also, wonderful username, interests, etc.
