Random 100 Results plus Other News
Apr. 4th, 2006 03:56 pmThe 100 Random People MeMe (or
woolgathering's more aptly named "Festival of Friends") came to an end today.
Out of the 100 people I added, 14 added me back. Additionally, 2 people who were randomly wandering LJ Land were intrigued enough by the experiment to join my friends' list. On top of that, one of
woolgathering's friends noticed that I was friends with her brother and sister-in-law, sparking an additional friending, and someone who had deleted me from their list back in September added me back.
As far as I know, three other LJ users took part in this experiment. I would be curious to learn their findings.
In other news, I've been in contact with the editor of a queer publication in America called "Distant Horizons" and I'm working on a short story to send to him. And my friend Henrique, whom I'm visiting for a week while in Brasil, is buying tickets for us to see Echo and the Bunnymen in Sao Paulo on the 29th of April.

Festival of Friends
Mar. 28th, 2006 04:41 pmHello Dear Stranger!
You must be wondering why I added you to my friends' list. I had nothing better to do with my afternoon so I hit the random button 100 times. Your journal came up and I added it.
If you would like to add mine back and become a friend, that will be nice.
Otherwise, just let me know and I will take you off. If I don't hear from you until the 4th of April, or you don't add me back until that date, then I will also take you off.
100 Random Journals: One year on
Mar. 28th, 2006 02:42 pmA year ago, to this date, I added 100 random people to my journal. The results were:
- Less than 10 people added me back.
- Of the people who didn't add me back, 1 trolled me with fag-hating comments.
- Some of those journals were owned by Russians, who were completely bewildered by my behaviour.
- Out of the few people that added me back, I eventually only kept 1 journal.
- Eventually, that 1 person deleted his journal (but not before I met another person through him, who is now a good LJ friend.)
Should I do it again?
