Deixa Que Eu Seje o Céu

There won't be any parks or sunbathing for us today, despite the sun still hanging in the sky with a big crayon smile. We spent the morning tidying the apartment and airing the rooms. If I hadn't woken up with a bad back, I'd be tackling the bathrooms right now. I suppose that can wait.

At lunch time, I invited Kevin for a walk beside the canal, all the way to Sainsbury's. Once again, hardly anyone around -- very unusual for such a lovely weekend. My guess, as usual, is that World Cup games are keeping people indoors. We walked past a few drunk men, sitting on the benches facing the water, stewing in their old jackets. Closer to Sainsbury's, a few people sat under a tree's shade, fishing. It must have been purely for sport since I can't imagine anyone wanting to eat a fish from such a dirty source of water.

Kevin is now in the kitchen, preparing veggie burgers and oven fries. I've got Marisa Monte on the stereo, the windows wide open, and a large bottle of chilled water beside me. Oh, and I've barely worn a t-shirt in the last 24 hours. After doing LJ, I might go read Grande Sertão: Veredas, play Gamecube, or lie on the bed and just listen to music.

I love this weather!

The weather here is beautiful too, and I am enjoying it. We didn't get to the beach this weekend but we're definitely going next weekend because Alan has a chess match by the sea, so I am going to tag along and hang out at the beach with books. :D Can't wait!

Tell Alan he has to play his chess match with sea water up to his waste.
