Storm That Came and Went

I love waking up in the middle of the night with a storm raging around me. I love hearing the thunders and seeing the light flash against the wall. Kevin runs to his work room, to check if the window is closed -- it is. I curl deeper under the covers. Storms make it easy for me to fall back asleep and avoid those questions that sometimes haunt me all night long.

You are just absolutely awesome in your honesty about the human condition. xx

when i was real young, my whole [dad's side] of the family would meet out on the porch whenever we'd get flash storms/floods/hurricanes and we'd just sit there and watch the street slide water down its sides and the swirling clouds and dripping trees. i really miss it. all the time. my dad and i would run out right after storms and race film canisters down the currents off the curbs. he'd put a coin in one and i'd run to the corner and try to guess which one was coming first and whether or not it had the coinage. kids are so easily amused. i'm glad i'm working for 'em now.

also, swimming?

It's funny how storms in the middle of the night make me feel good too... It's somehow comfortable.
Gosh, Ollie! I'm so curious about those questions. I bet you did it on purpose =P
