amberholic met me for lunch yesterday, since he was temping in the same building as me, near Waterloo station. I took him to a nearby Portuguese cafe, where our one-hour-break quickly flew by. They sold Guarana Antartica (the best soft drink in the world), which made me happy. On my way home, I saw
dj_alexander smoking a ciggie with his boss outside his office. He wore a light-blue jeans jacket and he didn't see me wave hello.
Today,
blu_bear met me outside the Astoria on Tottenham Court Road. We found a table outside one of those coffee shops that line Old Compton Street and chatted about life, livejournal and literature.
Rupert Everett cycled by. He wore a grey touque. He briefly scanned the many gay men sitting outside the cafes before moving on. My fame as a celebrity spotter was confirmed. When our lattes were finished, we wandered by Trash Palace and grabbed a few copies of
F*@K! (which
blu_bear writes for), then popped by The Photographer's Gallery (which was sadly closing.)
The trees that line my road seem to have suddenly bloomed. I swear to God they were just dull green things yesterday; today they carry the most beautiful, luxuriant purple blossoms. They are like those awkward teenagers that one day wake up beautiful. They make me forget my worries.

Those trees have been trying to bloom for weeks! They almost came out in the last warm spell we had, but then the frosts came back and I thought all the buds would be ruined… I don’t think it’s going to be as good a display as last year though, when the pavements seemed covered in petals like inch-thick confetti….

Please do tell more! I need to be cheered up today.

Unfottunately the facts of the matter are a little more mundane. We had adjoining corner lockers, I dropped something and bent down to pick it up, he bent down to get in his locker and sat on my head. It was briefly awkward.
