A Couple of Days

[livejournal.com profile] amberholic met me for lunch yesterday, since he was temping in the same building as me, near Waterloo station. I took him to a nearby Portuguese cafe, where our one-hour-break quickly flew by. They sold Guarana Antartica (the best soft drink in the world), which made me happy. On my way home, I saw [livejournal.com profile] dj_alexander smoking a ciggie with his boss outside his office. He wore a light-blue jeans jacket and he didn't see me wave hello.

Today, [livejournal.com profile] blu_bear met me outside the Astoria on Tottenham Court Road. We found a table outside one of those coffee shops that line Old Compton Street and chatted about life, livejournal and literature. Rupert Everett cycled by. He wore a grey touque. He briefly scanned the many gay men sitting outside the cafes before moving on. My fame as a celebrity spotter was confirmed. When our lattes were finished, we wandered by Trash Palace and grabbed a few copies of F*@K! (which [livejournal.com profile] blu_bear writes for), then popped by The Photographer's Gallery (which was sadly closing.)

The trees that line my road seem to have suddenly bloomed. I swear to God they were just dull green things yesterday; today they carry the most beautiful, luxuriant purple blossoms. They are like those awkward teenagers that one day wake up beautiful. They make me forget my worries.

Lunch was great yesterday and thanks so much for giving me a little tour of the area. I'll be going back to that cafe for lunch tomorrow as that piri piri chicken with salad is perfect for my diet and very filling.

I'll definitely be sticking with this hairdresser from now on too.

As you know, it's a great area to work in. You'll find plenty of interesting places once you start exploring.
