Aw, nice.

Is it just me but do men -especially servicemen - seem to have become astonishingly PLAIN around the war years? The default wartime lad pictured in old newsreels, footage and especially Leave photographs, seems Plug Ugly and Stunted, poor thing.

Maybe the handsome ones died early and only the Plug Ugly lived long enough for the photos?
