Can any of you recommend an e-mail system which will allow me to send out this massive, friendly, Bcc invitation? I was hoping to get some kind of periodical marketing newsletter going for her...

Note: I don't have my own hosted site.

Merci in advance!

I can only find this: http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/tips/email-address-limit.html

'Gmail email send limit - no more than 500 recipients per message for the Gmail web interface, or max 100 recipients if you are using an email client software.'

Thank you for that - but Gmail shut me down with just over 200! Maybe they changed their policy since that article.

'In an effort to fight spam and prevent abuse, Google will temporarily disable your account if you send messages to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages. If you use a POP or IMAP client (Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, e.g.), you may only send a message to 100 people at a time. Your account should be re-enabled within 24 hours.'

this is still current policy as it seems. did you use an email client or the web interface?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
The web interface. I'll try to log back in today and maybe use entourage by splitting the mail out into three groups of less than 100. :-)

I think you should pop around and invite them all personally.

No, hang on a minute, I can see the flaw in this plan. Yes, it starts next week, there just won't be time...

Nope, no time. ;-)

My company also provide this service:

http://www.bondware.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=44

Although it might be a bit 'spensive if you don't need the website too.

There's also EMMA:

http://myemma.com/

and Constant Contact:

To name a couple of other biggies.

Cheers Adam!

Try using Constant Contact. She can then stay in contact with them on as regular basis as she wishes.http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp

It's free to try. I am not sure if it is worth the cost in the long-term.

Cheers C! Will check it out.

He's great.

I've only read Cloud Atlas... I clearly need to re-prioritise my summer reading list.

[identity profile] millionreasons.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
My order of D Mitchell preference:
1. Cloud Atlas
2. Black Swan Green
3. Ghostwritten
4. No 9 Dream

Haven't read the new one yet.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll read them in that order!
