The Post with Tons of Links
Oct. 16th, 2004 12:41 pmWe are going today to the Hayward Gallery to see this exhibition. Kevin has been wanting to see it for a long time because a lot of his new projects have to do with images that carry different meanings when flipped upside down. His sister Allision quit her job yesterday. She was working in Croydon, Britain's butthole. Their other sister, Jennifer, bought a copy of Now Magazine but I didn't have any time to read it. Suddenly, she retired to her bedroom and took the magazine with her.
I awoke today remembering a movie preview I saw on Wednesday. It was for an upcoming lesbo thriller with Goldfrapp on the soundtrack. So I am listening to Felt Mountain right now, freezing in our bedroom. The neighbours, in the mornings, play dub or punk. And it's not even the kids listening to the music but the parents. Maybe, on their spare time, they participate in the Punk Parents message board. They also scream a lot and threaten each other with physical violence. I've caught myself, once or twice, putting my ear against the wall to hear better. When Jennifer arrived drunk one night, after a trip to the pub with her co-workers, Kevin and I stuck our ears to the cold wall so we could hear who she was telephoning. I had told him her face looked smudged and that maybe she had kissed a co-worker. The phone call was brief and cryptic.
