Gone Gone to Brazil... Soon
Feb. 16th, 2005 10:55 amI'm going to see The Tears tonight. I'm meeting Silke and Kate after work in a pub by the Astoria, despite feeling tired & blargh(!) But I wouldn't miss this gig for anything in the netherworld. I'm curious to see how different/similar this band is to Suede.
And you in the back, you can shut up and keep your opinions about Suede to yourselves.

I feel slightly anxious about my trip to Brazil. Counting today, 5 days left until my flight. The last time I spoke to my mom on the phone, she started arguing with my brother Martin. My voice cut through the Atlantic wires, asking them to quiet down and be nice to each other.
When I arrive home, there will be watermelons in the fridge (my favourite fruit), brand new magazines lying around, family coming & going with their "hellos" and "how is London?", gossip, the visit of friends, flicking through television channels to see what changed/what remains the same. I'll need to figure out a way of seeing my friends in São Paulo: Henrique, Bruno, Os Abimonistas, Andrea & Flavia.
I want to hug my dachshund Tete (short for Maria Tereza) and take her for long walks in the Zerão (Londrina's Hyde Park). Expect many photos of me hugging her while she slobbers my face.
Then, of course, there's that trip to Nordeste (Natal & Salvador). Will it happen? Or will it backfire, like so many plans before? And will I want to strangle my brother after a few days into the trip? He is one of the only people on this planet who knows which buttons to press and make me homicidal.
