I should be looking for a job; I should be updating my CV; I should be ironing my shirts and pressing my trousers; I should be worried about having only 700 pounds in my bank (and half of that going towards rent tonight). I`m avoiding the inevitable, i.e. the phone call to my temp agency and my placement in some dull university office. Bad brasilian boy. Bad.

Kevin and I went for walks in Hyde park this weekend - a neat pretence to get out and lie in the sun. I`ve been suffering some mild blues since being back, which I already predicted in Brasil. This was alleviated by the purchase of Garbage`s latest album Bleed Like Me, countless visits to Tesco for their juice, videogame bouts, day time television, and incarceration in Maida Vale`s library for one hour in daily time.

The trees outside our windows have gone purple with sprouts, and heavy white petals droop over the bridge that crosses the canal. Now we can see the birds hoping between the branches and aim a stone if they try to tap at our windows. When I`m in the kitchen, I rotate my eyes from those trees and the stove, with Garbage`s album blasted for the neighbour`s benifit.

Two excellent documentaries: Aileen, about the first known female serial killer in America (which makes you see what a brilliant job Charlie did in the movie) and McLibel, about two people who decided not to say sorry to MacDonalds. Both interesting and compelling in their own right and worth a watch if you have a chance.

My ascendant is in Scorpio. They say a scorpio can rise like a phoenix. Please throw a match and burn me - then I can come back as someone else. And get a job that will make me happy. Hire me. Now. Stop me from wasting my time. Here too.
